Hiking in the surroundings of Klosterneuburg
Klosterneuburg – Kollersteig – Leopoldsberg – Josefinenhütte – Josefsteig – Klosterneuburg.
From Agnesbrücke walk a short while up Sachsengasse until
a road fork. Here is the beginning of Kollersteig on the left side.
At the start the yellow marking leads through a housing estate
and later to Leopoldsberg, passing a beech forest. This path is
the most Eastern one of the Alps. From there on follow the red
marking on the left hand side of Höhenstraße until Josefinenhütte
( restaurant ). Opposite the street a green marked path leads back
to the starting point by way of Josefsteig.

Klosterneuburg – Lange Gasse – Haschhof – Kierling – Feldgasse – Promenade – Klosterneuburg.
From Roman Scholz Square you follow the green marking through
Rumplerstraße. Near the police station you turn half way
to the right into Buchberggasse. After a long curve to the left
you are at the beginning of Rafael-Donner-Gasse, and now you keep
always straight, along the cemetery wall and Lange Gasse across
Buchberg to Haschhof. From there a yellow marked way ( in the beginning
being a road ) will lead you to the church of Kierling. Having
passed it until Feldgasse ( which begins at the post office ) follow
Feldgasse without marking until you reach Kierlingerstraße.
Turn right there and stay on Kierlingerstraße for a short
while until you arrive at the pavement in front of the Academy
of Industrial Medicine. At the end of the fence the “promenade” starts,
which continues until the boarding –house “Alte Mühle”.

Maria Lourdes Grotte – Hadersfeld – Schneiderzipf – Maria
Lourdes Grotte
By bus
or car you reach Maria Lourdes Grotto ( parking place ). Pass the
grotto and follow the yellow marking until Hadersfeld. At the restaurant
Hubertushütte you reach the road. On the
left side the blue marked way across the “Schneiderzipf” (
in the beginning a road, later a forest path ) starts , until
the road from Klosterneuburg to St. Andrä. Keeping to the
left of the road you reach the starting point in few minutes.

Weidling – Reichergasse – Hohenauwiese – Eichenhain – Windischhütte – Rotgraben
( only practicable by means of a car )
From Klosterneuburg to Weidling by car. At the church turn half
right into Lenaugasse – Reichergasse until a barrier ( parking
possibility ). Follow the red marking till Hohenauwiese. From now
on keep to the blue marking until Eichenhain and then follow the
yellow marking up to “Windischhütte” ( restaurant
). From there a forest street ( green marking, in the beginning
parallel to a yellow marking ) leads you through the Rotgraben-valley
back to the starting point.

Klosterneuburg – Lange Gasse – Windischhütte – Weidling – Klosterneuburg
This hike begins like hike Nr. 2 . From Haschhof you follow the
green marking until Hohenauwiese. On a forest street you follow
the blue marking first, to Eichenhain, and then the yellow marking
to Windischhütte ( restaurant ). Up to there you walk about
2 ½ hours . The way back is marked green and leads parallel
to the yellow marking to the edge of the forest. There the two
ways separate; keep to the right and you will soon reach the forest
street through Rotgraben. Reichergasse and Lenaugasse in Weidling
are marked red till the end ( at the church ). Turn left into Löblichgasse
, passing the “Volksschule Weidling”. Follow Klosterneuburger
Gasse , then Weinberggasse to the “Sudetendeutschen Platz”.
Here begins Rumplerstraße which ends at Roman Scholz Platz,
the starting point of this hike.

Klosterneuburg – Kollersteig – Leopoldsberg – Josefinenhütte – Sulzwiese – Häuserl
am Berg – Jägerwiese – Grünbergerweg – Schrederbrücke – Agnesbrücke
That hike starts like hike Nr. 1. From Josefinenhütte on
you first follow the blue marking, later the yellow one, and at
last stay on the way marked red, passing the “Häuserl
am Berg”, until Jägerwiese ( restaurant ). If you like
you can ascend Hermannskogel ( 542 m ) in 15 – 20 minutes
following the yellow marked path. Habsburgwarte is closed during
the week. Along Grünbergerweg you descend to Weidling and
reach the main road at Schrederbrücke. Cross it and follow
the green marking through Feldergasse and on Pius Parsch Promenade
along the brook Weidling until Agnesbrücke.

Kierling – Grüntal – Redlinger Hütte – Hadersfeld – Greifenstein
The valley „Grüntal“ you reach by bus from train
station Klosterneuburg-Kierling. There start a blue and a yellow
marking – you follow the blue one. Keep to the left, cross
a meadow, and pass a cross. At the edge of the forest you find
a green marked path which meets a red marked way soon after Redlinger
Hütte. ( Do not take the red marked path which leads
to Weisser Hof and later to Kritzendorf ). Stick to the green marking
which shows you the way to the restaurant Hubertushütte in
Hadersfeld. Behind the restaurant a green marked path starts that
leads you to the fort Greifenstein ( sightseeing possible ).Walking
down the road you reach the train station opposite the church within
a few minutes.

St. Andrä – Hagenbachklamm – Unterkirchbach – Arzgrub – Hintersdorf – St.
Andrä
St. Andrä you reach by bus from train station Klosterneuburg-Kierling
, or by car. Parking is possible near the church. From there you
walk a short while along the road back to Klosterneuburg and you
will soon reach a red marking on the left, opposite a mill. Approximately
15 minutes later you cross the street and are at the beginning
of Hagenbachklamm. From there you first follow the red marking
, later the green one, and at last the red marking again until
Unterkirchbach. Opposite the village road, which you have reached
now, commences a green marked way via Arzgrub to Hintersdorf. Keep
straight on the road ( without marking ) passing the restaurant,
until you see the yellow marking start. Follow this route until
the first curve, from there on use the green marked way which crosses
one time the road Klosterneuburg-St. Andrä until the starting
point ( mill ).
